This is where you write down all your creative ideas. Sketchbooks don't just include drawings. They include words, ideas, or maybe a quote you heard earlier that day.

Setting Up for Success- Prompt One
Sometimes it’s hard to understand how to start your visual journal. AND/OR just hard to find a place to start. Your first prompt will be to set up your journal for success.
Using the magazines in the journal area cut out various words and things that interest you that you can use later for pages and assignments.
Water color 5 different pages to use later as backgrounds for pages.

Pick a Color – Prompt Three
Create a page using mainly ONE color only. Fill the entire page using more than just one medium. (*medium – the material or form used by an artist, composer, or writer.) For instance, using more than one medium would be a page painting with watercolor and drawing with pen OR collaging with magazine and drawing with sharpie.

Why are you unique?
We are all different from one another. Why are you unique? Stop and think for a minute what separates you from everyone else. Create a page CELEBRATING why you are unique and different!

The edges of the page go forgotten sometimes. Begin creating your page from the outside in. Only rule- use more than one medium. I.E. (in explanation) colored pencil and watercolor OR sharpie and magazine collage OR pencil and watercolor. Some examples of pages below!
